Incorporating Practical Degree of Saturation in Capacity Estimation of On-Street, Mid-Block, Off-Line Bus Stops

The effectiveness of an on-street bus facility depends on the general traffic that shares lane used by buses. Transit Capacity and Quality Service Manual (TCQSM) methodology was to estimate capacity based critical stop operation. Hisham et al. provided improved understanding performance on-street, mid-block, off-line relating adjacent flow rate. Using TCQSM methodology, determined adopting estimated operation margin relates a design failure However, rate is theoretically ambiguous difficult quantify in practice, particularly under high volume conditions. In contrast, degree saturation direct measure operating conditions experienced buses using stop, traffic, so it directly affects approach delay queuing. aim this study better understand at stops considering degrees loading areas rather than according ensure waiting times upstream are kept acceptable levels determining maximum working capacity.
